What does the word “entrepreneur” mean to you?
If we were sitting in a classroom, you’d probably expect to hear something along the lines of someone who starts and runs their own business. However, after working for the Richard M. and Helen Devos Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) for over a year, it means much more to me. An entrepreneur is someone who owns their own business but it is also a state of mind. To be an entrepreneur, you must be willing to take risks and prepare for failure. Entrepreneurs also understand that before someone invests in your business or idea, they are making an investment in you.
